It really was a great week at the beach. Restful...peaceful...
Great family time, yummy food, Everything you could ask for in a family vacation.

After a very, very long drive home... we arrived in our "neck of the woods..."
So relieved to be so near our home, we stopped for dinner.
The whole family stopped together. It was a quick stop...at a well known chain restaurant.
We ate a quick dinner...and headed for our cars.

It only took a minute to realize that anything of any value, had been taken from our car.
Purse...all electronics...you name it, It was all gone!
As we were assessing our loss, another family member also realized that they too had been robbed.
It was late, we were all so tired, it seemed pretty impossible that this had happened to us!
All we were left with from our trip, are these few pictures that other family took during the week. I am grateful, however, that no one was hurt,
"Things" can be replaced. Sad as it was...it sure could have been worse.
And now... We piece our lives back together...a little at a time!;)

Fish Tacos and Mangos....

May 9, 2011

001

We have had so much going on around our house, during the last week, I didn't have the chance
to finish our beach pictures....so here we go!
The Boy did a little fishing while at the beach....and then he kindly treated us
to some of the best fish tacos we have ever eaten!  After tasting the fish taco himself...The Boy
announced..."Hey, I think I should have a cooking show!..These are GOOD!"
And yes they were!  Although I am not so sure about the cooking show;)
003

For me....the most impressive part of the Fish Tacos was that The Boy cleaned
the kitchen of our condo after he was done cooking....Wow!  Now that isn't something you
see too often....and he did a wonderful job.

Mangos became the treat of choice each afternoon on the beach.  The mango vendor would walk
down the beach with a cart, hauling a load of mangos in an ice chest.  He also was equipped with
a shaker full of chile powder and a bottle of Chamoy.  He made a lovely little sculpture
out of each mango....it looked like a flower on a stick.
032

Next he would sprinkle it heavily with chile powder and then pour the Chamoy over
the mango.  It made for a big mess....but was loved by all who ate them.

014

The Rooster enjoyed himself a mango...or two....or three....I think we actually lost
track of the number he ate.

While in our condo late one afternoon...my phone rang....it was The Farmer, who was out
on the beach.  He asked me to come to the balcony so I could see a "suprise" that he had
made for me.  And this is what I saw! It was a lovely "suprise."
Off to the side stood all of the children....I am pretty sure they helped him carve out his
message.....I do like that Farmer.....he is a great guy!

We Left It All Behind.....

002

A much needed break was in order......
So after celebrating Easter in Mesa with the family, we jumped into the car and headed for....
Puerto Penasco.....Rocky Point.
The Farmer, as well as a whole slew of cousins met us along the way and we have begun a week of
long days in the sun....sand castles in the evenings...(by The Farmer), yummy seafood meals,
long chats....long naps.....good books....more tasty food...
It just doesn't get any better than having our kids with us....all to ourselves....time we are soaking up.
The Boy's mission call is sitting in our mailbox waiting for us to pick it up, which we will do on our way home.
But as exciting as it is for us to have him prepared to leave...
......his upcoming absence is in our every thought.
Our family is changing.
And I am more grateful than ever for this week of just being together.

Another Day In Paradise

July 18, 2008

These are pictures that I took yesterday afternoon. I rained most of the afternoon but let up enough for me to visit the scout camp and check in on the boys (and men). This is the hotel I am staying at...I LOVE IT!!
This tree is literally 50 yards from my room, on the edge of the golf course. I ran right past this tree in the morning, came back in the afternoon, after the storm, and this is what we found. It had been struck by lightening. There was bark everywhere. It was really a sight.
Here is The Farmer with a chunk of bark to show the boys back at camp. You can see how incredibly beautiful this place is, the golf course is in the background.
Rooster and the gang did their 5 mile hike yesterday and came through town. They took a little rest and this is where I caught up with the. They were having such a great time! Good thing they had their rain ponchos on...it was raining.
Here's little Rooster with the burnt bark that The Farmer saved for him. He thought it was pretty interesting.

My Version Of Scout Camp...

July 17, 2008

This is where The Farmer is....
He is with these fine young men...
This is where I am.....
Looking at this from the window of my room...
Eating some incredible food....
Checking out some darling shops...
Reading some great books.....
Running in the beautiful mountains....
oops....did I mention that the hotel is haunted???
I love this town...I think I said that about 20 times yesterday.
THIS IS WHAT I CALL SCOUT CAMP!!
The scout camp where The Farmer and the boys are, is fairly close to where I am staying. So this morning I set out on a run/hike to meet the men at camp. Five miles or so later, I was loving my run/hike, but had not come upon the camp. I returned to the hotel. I will try again tomorrow:) The mountains are incredibly beautiful, it has been raining in the afternoons. Today there was thunder and lightening. It made me feel sorry for the scouts...for a minute...actually it was The Farmer I was feeling bad for. Scouts like that kind of stuff...right? I thought I would get some great pictures today, but because of the rain it didn't work out. Hopefully tomorrow.

Mazatlan Fun!

A trip to the local aquarium was really fun!
Rooster looks a little worried with a parrot on his shoulder!
It was great to be together!
