Historic...Yes...The Solution...No

January 20, 2009

Yes...it is a historic day in the history of the United States. It is an example of all that we believe in....CHOICE. Millions of people exercised their right to choose and that....I respect. I don't like to share my political views...and I certainly don't want to judge others for their views. But this, I would like to say, He was not my choice...and I drove for 3 hours to choose! But I will do my personal best to be supportative. Do I think that he will be able to change the world. NO!! He has professed too much...the world expects too much. No leader has ever been perfect....and he too will certainly disappoint many people...
And I would also like to say....Thank you Mr. President and thank you to your beautiful "grace under pressure" wife. You did a great job. Thank you for dedicating the last several years of your life to public service...and that is just what it was....SERVICE. You led us in prayer when we needed to pray, you defended us when we needed to be defended, you were not perfect...but then again...who is???
You are an amazing man...you have my RESPECT!

Ditto! Yes, today is a historic day, but darn it, it's hard to be excited! ...I hear today's events will cost about 160 million! Not a good start....:(

Hi, saw you on Misplaced Americans and Farming caught my interest as I come from a Dairy Farm and then married a Potato Farmer.

I loved this post because I completely agree. I am grateful for Bush and the way our Country is now is not because of him. It's a copout.

Amen! I was so bothered by how audience members booed at Bush when he walked out on the platform before Obama was sworn in. Even if you don't like him or any other leader of this country, you still need to give respect. I was really bothered by that lack of respect. I know that Bush wasn't perfect, but if any of us had been put in his shoes, we probably would have run things the exact way. It's like a Bishop who knows the details of someone's repentance, but yet can't divulge the details to the entire ward due to privacy. So it is with Bush, there are things he had to decide on that we will never know about or be able to comprehend, and furthermore, those items were and are to be kept top secret. On the last note, about Obama... he will do no wrong because the media wants him to suceed so badly that they will print nor say no wrong. Good luck Obama, I seriously hope you do what's best for us!

I may not agree with you politically but I very much respect your opinion and I really think it is great that you have an opinion. I am a fellow sister in the Gospel and when I have a visit with a friend who has no opinion of anything political I think that is sad. Especially when they 'vote' how they do because they do as their husband does... or they think that is how Mormons are supposed to vote. Thankfully the church does not take a stand and tell us how to vote and they want us to be a two party church.
I think you have a wonderful blog. I studied in Guadalajara for 6 months and then returned the following year for a summer. I really love Mexico. I was wondering if you feel safe where you live? I have heard a lot of things about it being unsafe due to drug traffickers.
